Finally Wedding Photos!

Click below to enjoy some of my favorite photos from the wedding. I want to thank everyone for coming and the wonderful gifts. Clint and I were so glad to see you all. In May, it will have been 2 years since all the fun went down. We had a blast and it was a wonderful day. Thank you to God, my family, my friends, my kids, and my loving husband!

Songs

I do not think I realized how many wedding songs there are! There are religious, non-religious, songs for daddy/daughter dances, first dance songs, and party songs. What are some of your favorite wedding songs?

We could go old school, cheesy, or modern.

Here are some of my favorite ideas for the reception:

Of course anything by The Beatles

1,2,3,4 – Plain White T’s
Amazed – Lonestar
At Last – Etta James

Breathe – Faith Hill
Cаn’t HеƖр Falling In Lονе – Elvis Presley

Everything – Lifehouse
Forever & Fοr Always – Shania Twain
You Shook Me All Night Long - AC/DC

Love Shack - B-52's
Livin' On A Prayer - Bon Jovi

There are many more, let me know what your votes are for!

Super Sweet Showdown

Two nights in a row of cupcake showdown taste testing.

First contenders were from Granite Bakery.

They were pretty dry, although the frosting to cake ratio was very good. Very tasty Lemon.

Tonight

Diva vs Mini’s

We liked the frosting from Diva’s but the cake from Mini’s.

Sean loved the coconut, Natalie and I loved the Tiramisu, Tim dug “The Diva” (doesn’t he always).

Sadie and Luke enjoyed all the chocolate flavors. Winner? Divas.

However we still have more challengers this weekend. Right now we all need to hunt down some milk!

Mamma-zilla

Wikipedia defines a Bridezilla as a difficult, unpleasant perfectionist bride.

Ladies and gentleman, I introduce

Mamma-zilla!

No bite from a radio active spider, no nuclear exposure, not even a vampire bite.

It happened so slowly, it began with one innocent trip to the bridal show. Then 8 copies of bridal magazines. Three bridal shops, 3 fittings. Then there was the 4 hours spent shopping for the perrrfect font to use on the invitations. 6 possible stamps – noooo we couldn’t use the FREAKING FOREVER stamp!

A melt down with the DJ contract….. and before I knew it…. I had become a monster!!!!

Here is hoping we all survive the next 4 weeks.

Much Ado about the Wedding Cake!

Wedding cakes have been a tradition since the Roman times. During that time a thin wheat cake, representing bounty, was crumbled over the bride's head to ensure her fertility. Today we have adapted this to the bride and groom cutting the cake together and sometimes the groom lovingly smashes the cake in the glowing bride's face. This taste of the first slice serves as a symbol of the bride and groom's willingness to share a household.

What do you think, should we make a big mess shoving cake everywhere?

There are superstitions that it is bad luck for a guest to leave the reception without tasting the cake. So make sure you all eat up!

What About this?

Another Tradition is that a piece of the bride's cake under a single person's pillow will lead to "dreams of a future spouse". Anyone need a piece?
